Materials & Process: Paintings are on canvas or masonite. I build my frames and stretch the canvas. I work in a layered combination of acrylic and oils to achieve my open exposed layers look. Drawings are done on 140 lb. white, acid free drawing paper. I generally work in a layered combination of graphite, charcoal, and India ink. My artwork is photo-based. Keep in mind when commissioning a portrait that a great photo is exactly that, what makes a successful and meaningful painting is the moment being captured. For wedding portraits, I recommend that the couple pick a special moment that they shared during the service/reception, which does not necessarily need to be a traditional moment, but a meaningful one.
Commission Rates: Upon commission, I will start an open dialogue with you to know exactly what you want. The process generally takes 30 days from the start date, but there may be other commissions in line so please give me as much notice as you have, and I will send you a commission agreement of the start date and anticipated completion date.
Base Rate includes materials and labor. Shipping and tax rate is not included in the base rate. Custom sizes are available.
Polices: Buyer will first receive a Commission Agreement. If buyer accepts my proposal, agreement must be signed, mailed in, and provide photos and documents that I may need in order to create the artwork. The buyer will pay 50% of the work's price with the accepted commission agreement. Buyer will pay me the remaining 50% within 30 days of receiving the invoice of the completed art piece. The work will not be delivered, and title will not pass, until I receive full payment.
As the buyer, you are responsible for insurance in transit. I retain full copyright in the work. You agree to allow me to barrow this piece in a show at a museum, gallery or similar space.
I reserve the right of first refusal if you decide to sell the work. By paying the amount listed, you agree to the terms in the invoice.
Payment: I accept cash and check.
